World Photography Day is observed every year on 19th August. This day has gained great importance. There was a story when only a few people used to have cameras. But now every human being has a camera in his hand. When the camera was in the hands of very few people, only special moments were meant to capture. But now a lot of change has come. People capture more photos than they enjoy long. It would not be wrong to say that the camera has been replaced by mobile. Two friends make a invention together:
It was 1893. The daguerreotype process was introduced in France. It is considered to be the world’s first photography process. The process was invented by two men together. It was invented by Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nisfer. Both lived in France. Louis and Joseph announced the invention of the daguerreotype process on August 19, 1839. And later obtained the patent. And, remembering this day, World Cinematography Day (World Photography Day) is observed on 19th August.
First selfie taken on this day:
The trend of selfies has increased considerably in the last few years. There was a time when everyone used to take pictures of each other but now the need is not felt after the trend of selfie. But you will be surprised to know that selfie was first taken in 1839. Robert Cornelius of the United States was one of the men who drew the world’s first selfie. That picture still exists today. It is available in the United State Library of Congress print.

There are some photographers in the world who captured the most beautiful pictures. August 19, 2010 was a historic and memorable day for all photographers.
