This Gurdwara is situated in Sector 34 of Chandigarh (which is the capital of both Punjab and Haryana).
Initially, this Gurdwara Sahib was named Jagannath Puri. The land for this Gurdwara was acquired in 1971-72 through the Capital Project of Chandigarh. Initially, the service at this Gurdwara was carried out from a temporary structure. The service began to prosper, and with the growing congregation, the need for a more permanent structure became evident. After the completion of the first phase of construction in 1980, six acres of land were allocated to Gurdwara Sahib.
The first floor was completed in 1984. In the same year, three more acres of land were allocated for expansion. Subsequently, four more acres of land were acquired for further development.
Koohni Sahib Gurdwara
Koohni Sahib Gurdwara is a popular shrine which is located on the Chandigarh-Mansa Devi road. There is unique story associated with this shrine, which is that once Guru Gobind Singhji had stayed here for a few days along with his fellow warriors. The Gurdwara was initially known as Bageecha Sahib. The naming of Gurudwara is because of a popular belief that while staying here, Guru Gobind Singhji rested on his elbow and thus the name Koohni Sahib Gurdwara. This is a must visit pilgrimage center and is closely located from the Chandigarh city.
Gurudwara Shri Baoli Sahib
GURUDWARA SHRI BAOLI SAHIB is situated in the Dhakoli Village, Zirakpur in Distt Mohali. After winning battle of Bhagani (Paonta Sahib) SHRI GURU GOBIND SINGH JI came here. GURU SAHIB was on the way to Shri Anandpur Sahib, Stopping at Rani ka raipur(Raipur Rani), GURU SAHIB reached on outskirts of Vill Dhakoli. As this village was laid down by BHAI GURDITA JI, elder son of SHRI GURU HARGOBIND SAHIB JI, there were lots of sikh followers in the village.
On hearing the news of GURU SAHIBS arrival Chaudary Ishar Das resident of village along with other followers reached to take GURU SAHIBS blessing. GURU SAHIB asked for welfare of village and area. Chaudary Ishar das with folded hands asked that there was no water in village and people have to go to Sukhna river to fetch water for their livelihood. GURU SAHIB was holding Barchaa in his hand.
Hearing this problem GURU SAHIB Started searching in the area and at particular place inserted his barcha in the soil and immediately sweet and clean water started flowing from earth. Looking at this every one was very happy and bowed before GURU SAHIB. GURU SAHIB gave money from his own to Chaudary to construct the place permanently and also told him that this place will be known ans BAOLI SAHIB
One another sikh followers Bhai Kirpa ram with his wife visited GURU SAHIB and bowed his head and asked for blessing. Although GURU SAHIB knew everything, but still asked the kirpa ram, he was not feeling comfortable to speak up his problem publicly in front of all. “I have just came to take your blessing” Bhai Kirpa Ram said. But his wife deesan requested GURU SAHIB in low voice that she was suffering from athrai and was not able to bear the child my child dies either after 8 days or 8 months of birth and asked GURU SAHIB to bless with child. GURU SAHIB asked couple to have bath in baoli sahib early in the morning on ikadashi day next to amavas After following the instructions they got relief from disease and were blessed with son.
