TAWANG
The picturesque hilltop town of Tawang, which receives thousands of tourists each year, is one of the best sites to visit in Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is most renowned for its 400-year-old Tawang Monastery, the second-biggest monastery in the world and the largest Buddhist monastery.
Tawang is a must-see if you’re visiting Arunachal for the first time because it has so much to offer and something for everyone. You may easily spend a few days traveling in and around Tawang because there are so many monasteries, vistas, waterfalls, and hiking paths.
NATIONAL PARK OF NADAPHA
Namdapha National Park, the fourth-largest national park in India and located in Itanagar, is one of the best places to visit in Arunachal Pradesh if you enjoy wildlife. The magnificent park is situated at the base of the snow-covered Eastern Himalayan peaks in the Changlang district of the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, close to the international border with Myanmar.
ZIRO
If you enjoy music, you probably know about the renowned Ziro festival that takes place in Ziro Valley, one of the greatest tourist destinations in Arunachal Pradesh. The administrative center for the Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh lies in Ziro, which is situated at an elevation of 5000 feet. Excellent weather makes it possible for you to go exploring.
Wildlife Sanctuary in Pakistan
Plan a trip to Pakke Tiger Reserve, a section of Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary, one of Arunachal Pradesh’s best wildlife sanctuaries, if you’re interested in seeing Royal Bengal tigers. LA SELA PASS
Sela Pass, a high-altitude mountain pass situated between Tawang and West Kameng districts in Arunachal Pradesh, is one of the best places to visit. It links Dirang, which is 78 km distant, and Guwahati, which is 340 km away, from Tawang. At roughly 14,000 feet, it is one of the highest mountain passes in Arunachal Pradesh (4,300 m).
A BUMLA PASS
Bumla Pass, the state’s highest mountain pass at 15,200 feet, is one of the greatest spots to visit in Arunachal Pradesh if you enjoy the adventure (4,600 m).
It is a crossing point between Tawang, India, and Cona County, Tibet. It is 43 kilometers from the China-administrated Tsona Dzong town in Cona County and 37 km from Tawang.
BOMDILA
Bomdila may not have a big list of attractions, but this small hamlet in the eastern Himalayan mountains, surrounded by hills and valleys, is nevertheless worth seeing. Most travelers pass through Bomdila swiftly before continuing to Tawang, which is more well-liked, and beyond. Bomdila is one of the nicest sites to visit in Arunachal Pradesh, thus it deserves at least a few days.
DIRANG
One of my favorite sites in Arunachal Pradesh is Dirang, which unquestionably tops the list of the top tourist destinations in the state. This hill hamlet in the Dirang valley, on the banks of the same-named river, is renowned for its stunning natural surroundings, monasteries, hiking routes, war monument, and kiwi fruit.
SANGTI
Sangti, unquestionably one of the nicest spots to visit in Arunachal Pradesh, is what everyone thinks of when they think of the state’s lovely valleys. Sangti Valley is 15 kilometers from Dirang and situated in the Eastern Himalayas.
TEZU
Tezu, the district headquarters of Lohit District and situated amidst the Mishmi Hills in the state of Arunachal Pradesh, is one of the towns attracting tourists. It is well-known for its many attractions, outdoor activities, and natural splendor.
The Mishmi tribes, who are the first indigenous and have a history that dates back to the Mahabharata, make up the majority of the population.
PASIGHAT
Pasighat, which is situated in the Siang River Valleys of the Himalayas, is one of the underappreciated locations in Arunachal Pradesh that deserves to be on this list. The oldest town in the state, Pasighat, also known as the Gateway of Arunachal, was founded in 1911. It is a lovely town with the ideal balance of historical significance, culture, and nature excursions. Beginning in Tibet, the Siang River is a tributary of the Brahmaputra.
MECHUKA
A beautiful valley in the state, Mechuka valley or Mechuka, should be added to your schedule if you’re traveling to Aalo.
In the native language, Mechuka means “Medicinal Water of Snow.” The valley, which is bordered by the higher Himalayas and pine trees, is transformed into a magnificent place.
KHONSA
If you wish to learn about the customs and cultures of the local tribes, Khonsa is among the greatest places to go in Arunachal Pradesh. Basar is undoubtedly one of the nicest places to visit. It is dotted with beautiful paddy fields, vibrant orange, kiwi, pineapple, apple orchards, and verdant woodlands.
BHALUKPONG
Bhalukpong, a little hamlet situated on the banks of the Kameng River in the foothills of the Himalayas, is one of the greatest spots to visit in Arunachal Pradesh if you’re looking to venture off the beaten road.
The Kameng River, which dominates the valley with its majesty, and the Himalayan hills that surround it give Bhalukpong its reputation for breathtaking natural beauty and tranquility.
ANINI
In the lovely Dibang Valley area of Arunachal Pradesh, Anini is one of the best offbeat destinations to come to enjoy the untamed natural beauty of the Eastern Himalayas. This sleepy mountain village is situated on a plateau between two of the Brahmaputra river’s tributaries.
CHANGLANG
Changlang, which is in the Patkai Mountain ranges bordering Myanmar and is recognized for its culture, tradition, and beautiful scenery, is one of the hidden jewels in Arunachal that is worth visiting. In contrast to neighboring communities, Changlang has altitude variances that range from 200 meters to 4500 meters.
MIAO
Despite being close to the well-known tourist destination Namdapha National Park, Miao is one of the unusual spots to visit in Arunachal Pradesh that many people frequently neglect. For nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, and families taking vacations, it is the ideal location.
NAMPONG
Nampong, in the Changlang region of the eastern Himalayas’ “Patkai Bum” mountains, is renowned for its distinctive history and stunning mountain valleys that provide visitors with tranquil views.
ROING
If you want a little bit of adventure, history, culture, and stunning views, you’ll love Roing, which is situated in Lower Dibang Valley on the banks of the Dibang River.
ALONG
One of the unusual tourist destinations in Arunachal Pradesh that is seeing an increase in visitors is Along, also known as Aalo, which is near the West Siang District. Aalo is the ideal vacation spot for those who enjoy the great outdoors and the natural world. It is located at the meeting point of the Sipu and Yomgo rivers.
HAYULIANG
For anyone seeking to venture off the beaten road in Arunachal Pradesh, Hayuliang, a small hamlet in the Anjaw district, offers a wealth of breathtaking experiences. Hayuliang settlement is pleasantly encircled by the towering mountains that welcome the clouds and is situated on the banks of the Lohit River just downstream from where it meets the Delei River.
TUTING
Tuting, located on the banks of the Brahmaputra River and close to the crucial border McMahon Line in the Upper Siang district, is another little town worth visiting while in Arunachal. Similar to Hayuliang, there are no must-see locations or a list of activities to do. The valleys around the town, which are filled with dense jungles and teem with life, are perfect for walks, hikes, biking, and taking in breathtaking vistas.
APE GORICHEN
If you are an experienced hiker or climber wishing to ascend the highest peak in Arunachal Pradesh, climbing Gorichen Peak is worth adding to your list of experiences. Technically speaking, it cannot be considered one of the greatest locations to visit in Arunachal Pradesh.
BHISMAKNAGAR
Bhismaknagar is a great option if you enjoy a little bit of a blend of history, archaeology, nature, and culture, along with an unusual location.
Bhismaknagar, which is in the Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh, is a great place to stay for a few days if you want to spend some time in the great outdoors trekking, bicycling, or just walking.
DAMBUK
Make sure to stop by this tiny community in the Lower Dibang Valley if, like me, you are an orange lover. One of the top destinations in Arunachal Pradesh is the small town of Dambuk, which is well-known for its delicious oranges as well as for its hiking trails, quiet setting amidst breathtaking landscapes, and the tranquility that comes with it.
THE TALLEY VALLEY
In Arunachal Pradesh, Talley Valley, which is adjacent to Ziro, is one of the best places to see unaltered nature. Talley Valley is a treasure trove of wildlife and thick woodlands and is home to numerous little settlements.
KAHO
How about traveling to the state’s most isolated region? If you dare to make the tough journey, go to Kaho, a little settlement controlled by the Indian Army on the banks of the Lohit River close to the Indo-China border.

Yingkiong, the administrative center for the Upper Siang District and one of Arunachal Pradesh’s unusual locations, is located on the banks of the Siang River.
