Bhai Shalo Ji was a very famous and great Sikh during the times of Guru Ram Das Ji, Guru Arjan Dev Ji, and Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
Once, when Raja Kawal Sain of Madhya Pradesh came to Amritsar Sahib to have the darshan of Guru Arjan Dev Ji and was on his way to the Darbar Sahib, Bhai Shalo Ji was cleaning the floor near the Darshan Deori. The king’s son was wearing royal attire, which looked like a girl’s dress. The prince’s foot was placed on the broom, and Bhai Shalo Ji uttered the words, “Son, please walk carefully.” As he walked, the prince transformed into a girl, both in appearance and body.
The king later told Guru Ji about the incident, and Guru Ji responded, “Bhai Shalo Ji’s words never go in vain.” Guru Ji then advised the king not to worry and to dress the prince in female attire and repeat the same process. The king followed Guru Ji’s advice, and when the prince, dressed in girl’s clothes, placed his foot on the broom, Bhai Shalo Ji again said, “Son, please walk carefully.” As Bhai Shalo Ji looked on, the girl transformed back into a boy.
This incident is depicted on the historical board at Bhai Shalo Ji’s Gurdwara.
