Why Lal Bahadur Shastri Wept When He Held Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s Sacred Weapons?

When Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s sacred weapons returned to India from England, the Prime Minister of India at the time, Lal Bahadur Shastri, was moved to tears upon holding the weapons in his hands.

He bowed repeatedly and expressed, “Guru Gobind Singh Ji, had you not stood firm with these weapons, who knows what the state of the country would have been.” The entire nation paid homage to these weapons. Interestingly, it was both the necessity of the time and the protection of the nation that led to gratitude towards Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. The Prime Minister also bowed in respect and praised the Guru’s valor.
